“How to start and maintain a Meditation Practice” is a 4 week course held on Zoom on Wednesdays starting on the 15th of October 2025.

The online dates are as follows; 6-7pm on Wednesdays;

15th October

22nd October

29th October

12th November

Recordings of each session will be available to rewatch or watch fresh if you cannot make the live session.

Do You need Previous Experience?

You do not need to have previous experience. You do not need to be struggling with meditation to benefit from this course; regular guided practice in new styles can be a great way to bring ourselves out of a dormant period of practice (ie not doing it!), and infuse us with a bit more of an understanding and joy of practice again. Likewise, if the course offers you space to explore what you don’t like about meditation it will also be a schooling for personal development of your own practice- we often need to experience what we don’t gel with in order to get to what we do gel with… this is what I hope you gain from this course.

The taught meditation practices will be from traditional yogic meditation and then modern techniques/practices which we see in many settings now and aren’t particularly “Buddhist” or “Yogic”, before we settle into our own styles that will be informed/influenced by those techniques.

The classes are on Zoom- you do not need to be a tech wizard to join the class on this platform, a link will be sent via email before each class.

You dont need to have your camera switched on if you dont wish to, though it would be nice to see you, theres no pressure to do so. There will be room for discussion, and questions and answers- in some if not all of the sessions.

Following the four week course I will, (time willing) run drop in sessions virtually or in person for those wishing to continue their practice in either a

group or in-person method. These drop-ins often give us space to stay in touch with something which gave structure to our practice. Sometimes we

dont need this- and thats great too, theres no obligation either way.

Price

The £40 covers 4 online sessions each lasting 1 hour, along with course notes released at the beginning of the course to give you structure. I encourage you to also purchase a journal, or nice notebook, or diary to record, and write in anything that you learn, feel or think in relation to the course.

Conduct

The discussion sections of the course are not for us to offer each other advice; meditation is an inward practice, guided by techniques, thats what is on offer here, so we should assume our advice will fix others issues. Please do not share personal information about your self or others you know during discussions.

Mental Health

If you have experienced psychosis recently, or have a current mental health problem which is causing you serious unsteadiness I am not able to facilitate a guidance through meditation for you, there are specialists who can help in those cases; I am under-qualified to help in this regard, but there are people out there that most certainly are qualified so do seek them out if you are very interested in meditation.
