Progression

Both Bailgate classes, (held on Saturday and Tuesday) have progressed beyond Level 1, and are on the brink of becoming level 2 classes. Whilst the practitioners in these classes have come from mixed backgrounds, (some being level 2, some being beginner), the classes have had to hold the middle ground for all so that all can participate and gain from the teachings, learn from the roots up, whilst also being interesting enough to hold level the 2 students attention. This is the benefit and challenge of teaching a “mixed levels class” where beginners are welcome.

As the classes are now over a year old, and some students have come for the whole time, it is right to progress these classes beyond level 1, and move where the students naturally are heading, which is into level 2. This means that both Saturdays and Tuesdays are no longer “beginner friendly”. These classes are suitable for students who have been before- if you have attended in the past you are welcome to continue to come, but they are now closed to new attendees (students are welcome to move between the classes).

The only beginner class I currently run is in Washingborough on a Tuesday Lunchtime (see schedule). If you wish to learn yoga you are welcome to come to that session- mats are provided. This class will progress towards level 1 before too long, and so if you wish to learn the basics and continue with the class it’s advisable to come and take your space within the class soon.

As the Lincoln classes progress we move not only towards more complex poses, but we tune in our focus more diligently, practicing more deeply, and delve into our bodies at a deeper level- this deeper level is only available to those who practice diligently and with concentration. We will not be heading towards intense arm balances, or inversions, we will be progressing from where we are, at the natural pace we have been utilising so far.
